The task of mission, evangelism and church planting in the western world requires specialised training. The task-orientation for missionary leaders, evangelists and church planters is different to that of formal church based ministry and therefore requires a different approach. It is with this in mind that Forge offers competency based mission training internships.
Forge has been training pioneering missionary leaders across Tasmania in partnership with many denominations, churches and colleges since 2003. Forge works together with these groups to develop pioneering leaders, church planters, missionaries and evangelists who will be prepared to take the gospel and the church into uncharted territory. We believe that the local context is primary in the shaping of missionary leaders and so the majority of learning takes place in the immediate context.
In essence Forge is committed to championing the local church in becoming more mission-shaped. Our vocation is to ‘Help birth and nurture the missional-incarnational church in Australia and beyond’. To this end we are dedicated to the development and nurture of mission hearted leaders and communities throughout Australia. Our heart is to cultivate the skills, knowledge and spirituality of missionaries, evangelists, church planters and pastors for our state. We do this by:

learning process that develops pioneering skills, a sharpened ability
to interpret and engage culture, mission strategies and leadership
practices.

Drawing together an alliance of innovative practitioners, theological colleges, local churches, denominations and agencies. |

Linking interns with experienced mission practitioners, projects and coaches. |

Providing academic accreditation in partnership with a wide variety of theological colleges across Tasmania. |

Consulting with local churches, denominations and other organisations. |
